Dear Parents:
Welcome to another school year! Your child is currently enrolled in Foods class. The structure of the class is such that students will study food and food preparation. Units covered include breads; fruits and vegetables; eggs; dairy products; meats; simple desserts; nutrition; consumer education; kitchen safety; plus various cooking techniques. Students will prepare selected recipes during cooking laboratory in their remote learning environment.
The foundation of this class is based on consumables which will be provided to your students throughout the semester. Though the district does supply this class with a minimum of resources, the more supplies we are able to purchase and provide to the students, the more complete the experience for your child. Last year the expenses for consumables for this class totaled around $4000.00. To help with that cost, we would be very appreciative of any monetary donation.
Donations in the past have been $50.00 on average and were used to buy various ingredients, supplies and educational tools for over forty dishes created by students. If you are unable to make a donation, we understand. All donations are voluntary and all students will be allowed to participate regardless of whether a donation is made.
A copy of the class guidelines, course objectives, goals, and an explanation of my grading policy have been posted on schoolloop.com in the Foods class locker. Please review these with your son or daughter. My voicemail number is 479-7752. Please call if you have any questions.

Information from Administration
Elective donations allow our teachers to purchase consumables needed to enrich your student's experience in their elective class. All donations are voluntary and your teacher is not made aware of donors. If you are donating by check, please bring to the front office rather than your teacher (see information below). How to donate with a check/cash:
Select a donation amount and click DONATE. Follow the prompts to check out, then click on Pay by Check/Cash. IMPORTANT, print out your receipt and include in an envelope with the check made out to "Pine Valley Middle School." Please bring donation to the front office NOT YOUR TEACHER.
How to donate with credit card:
